Chimp in a Suit

South Bay Musical Theatre’s production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels opens tomorrow night, May 24th, with a fantastic champagne gala.  While this is a perfect evening to see this chimp in a suit, all of the other evenings will be equally entertaining.

This fast-paced, stylish, sexy and irreverent musical comedy has songs ranging from swinging jazz, sizzling salsa, boot stomping’ country and some great big funk.

I hope to see you at the show – just remember to keep a hand on your wallet and steer your date clear of the brass section.

Next Stop : Côte D’Azur

That’s right, we’ll be spending three weeks on the French Riviera for South Bay Musical Theatre’s production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.  I’m back on drums and enjoying the various musical styles in this production.

Who will be the first scoundrel to extract $50,000 from the lovely heiress?  Who will have to leave town in shame?  This hilarious battle of cons will keep you laughing, humming, and guessing to the very end.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels runs May 24th – June 14th at the Saratoga Community Theater.

Rig Rundown : Superstar

As I described in a previous post, I swapped out my large guitar rig for a smaller and more versatile Fractal Audio Axe-Fx II mid-way through preparations for Jesus Christ Superstar.  This compact unit allowed me to conserve space, get some killer sounds and maintain control of my on-stage levels.  It’s hard to imagine how I could have fit all the equipment I modeled in the Axe-Fx on stage with me.

Here is a sampler of sounds from the show:

Read on for more details on this guitar rig including a video walk-through of some of the AxeEdit screens.
